If you want to improve your fitness level, group exercise classes are a great way to get results from your workouts. ZUMBA (Ogdensburg and Clayton)

When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.

MOONEY’S MARTIAL ARTS (Ogdensburg)

Sensei Matt Mooney offers classes focused on coordination, balance, fitness, and instilling discipline. Tiny Champs for ages 3-4 learn beginner MMA skills as well as listening, taking turns, sharing, being part of a team and more.  Youth MMA is for ages 5-12 and teaches boxing, kickboxing, kiu-jitsu, self-defense, fitness and the necessary skills to advance to the adult level of MMA.  Adult MMA is offered for ages 13 and up to train both beginners and advanced participants.  Contact Mooney’s Martial Arts through Facebook or at 528-4657 for more information.

SILVER SNEAKERS (Ogdensburg)

Muscular Strength & Range of Movement

Silver Sneakers incorporates a variety of fitness tools including resistance bands, hand held weights and range of motion exercises. It will help you increase your strength, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular health in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Exercises are done from a chair and standing up, but all exercises can be modified to be done in the seated position. This is for individuals at all different fitness levels.

Cardio Circuit

Cardiovascular exercise is the highlight of this class. The class features upper body strength workouts using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and the Silver Sneaker’s ball, alternated with non-impact aerobic activity. Members addressing cardiac and respiratory ailments will find the exercises safe and effective for both the heart and lungs. A chair is available for support and head-to-toe stretching.
